Birch Bowdre was born in Macon, Georgia, in 1954. He graduated from Furman University in 1976 and graduated cum laude from Cumberland School of Law in 1979. He received his L.L.M. in Taxation from the University of Alabama in 1985. Mr. Bowdre practiced with the Birmingham firm of Spain & Gillon for eighteen years until joining Wallace, Jordan, Ratliff & Brandt, L.L.C. in January, 1998.

He practices in the areas of estate planning and business and tax planning with an emphasis on contract work. He is a member of the Alabama State Bar, the State Bar of Georgia, the American Bar Association, and the Birmingham Bar Association. Mr. Bowdre is also a member of the Estate Planning Council of Birmingham, the National Health Lawyers Association, and the National Association of Estate Planners.
