Jay Clark was born in 1964 in Prattville, Alabama. A graduate of Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas, he received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting in 1986. Upon graduation he worked as an auditor with Ernst & Young in Birmingham, Alabama, concentrating in the fields of banking and health care. He received his Certified Public Accountant designation in 1989.
Mr. Clark left Ernst & Young in 1989 to attend law school at Cumberland School of Law where he graduated magna cum laude in 1992. While in law school, he was an Associate Editor of the Cumberland Law Review, was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi honor society, and was awarded membership in Curia Honoris. Mr. Clark joined Wallace, Jordan, Ratliff & Brandt in 1992. He is a member of the Alabama State Bar, the Bankruptcy and Commercial Law Section of the Alabama State Bar, and the Birmingham Bar Association.
