Mark Hogewood was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, in 1968. He graduated cum laude from Wake Forest University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics. While attending Wake Forest, Mr. Hogewood was selected for membership in the Omicron Delta Kappa honorary and served on the Student Judicial Board. Mr. Hogewood then attended Vanderbilt University School of Law, from which he graduated in 1993.

After law school, Mr. Hogewood worked with the Birmingham firm of Spain & Gillon until 1996. In January 1997, Mr. Hogewood joined Wallace, Jordan, Ratliff & Brandt as an associate. Mr. Hogewood’s practice has been primarily in the area of civil litigation with an emphasis in corporate and insurance defense, as well as insurance-coverage litigation. He is a frequent speaker at insurance coverage-related seminars and the co-author of “Recent Developments in Public Regulation of Insurance Law,” 37 Tort & Ins. L. J. 709 (2002).

He is a member of the American Bar Association, Alabama State Bar, Alabama Defense Lawyers Association, and Defense Research Institute. He has served on the state bar’s Task Force on Adult Literacy. He is an adjunct professor of insurance law at Cumberland School of Law.
