Mr. Jordan has practiced law in Birmingham and Alabama for over 26 years, principally in litigation and appeals. He is listed as counsel in 70 appellate decisions of the state and federal courts over Alabama.

These decisions include a year-long series of court cases which resolved a disputed election about who would serve as Chief Justice for the Supreme Court of Alabama. They also include other election disputes, numerous cases on the immunity and personal liability of public officials, and child custody. Other matters included a reported appellate decision on the damage remedies available for alleged defects in the licensing of consumer lenders and another appellate decision on the authority of local governments to exclude private providers of sanitary-sewer services.

Mr. Jordan was born in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1956 and lived there until he attended Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Michigan. He graduated from Hillsdale in 1977, and then moved to the University of Virginia School of Law, where he graduated in 1980.

He is a member of the Alabama State Bar, the Birmingham Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Federalist Society. He is also a member of the bar of all federal courts in Alabama, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and Supreme Court of the United States. Since 2002, he has served on the Alabama Supreme Court's Standing Committee on Rules of Conduct and Cannons of Judicial Ethics.

Currently, he is adjunct professor at Birmingham School of Law, where he teaches constitutional law.

Noteworthy civic activities include his four years (from 1995 to 1999) as Chairman of the Jefferson County Republican Executive Committee, the largest county Republican organization in the state.
