Annemarie Carney Axon practices in the litigation area, with a concentration in fiduciary litigation and environmental litigation. She is a member of the Alabama and Rhode Island State Bars.

Annemarie represents a broad range of clients including individual and corporate fiduciaries, financial institutions, manufacturers, and insurance companies in both state and federal court as well as state and federal regulatory agencies. Her environmental practice experience includes representing clients identified as potentially responsible parties under CERCLA, RCRA, the Clean Water Act and OPA. Notably, Annemarie served as counsel in the litigation arising from the North Cape oil spill, the first major oil spill after the passage of the Oil Pollution Act of 1990. Her fiduciary litigation experience includes claims arising under a fiduciary’s duty to its beneficiaries, will contests, trust modifications and terminations and the resignation and/or removal of fiduciaries. In addition, Annemarie advises corporate fiduciaries in the administration of estates and trusts.

Annemarie graduated from the University of Alabama in 1995 with a B.A. in history and political science. She received her J.D. degree from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1999. While in law school, she was lead articles editor for the Law and Psychology Review. Annemarie joined Wallace, Jordan, Ratliff & Brandt in 2006. Prior to that time, she practiced with Edwards, Angell, Palmer & Dodge in Providence, Rhode Island.
